Japanese Lady Replaces People Who Die In Her Small Town With Creepy Lookalike Dolls She Knits Herself And They Now Outnumber The Real People

Global Post- The tiny village of Nagoro on Shikoku, Japan, used to be home to a large company and hundreds of people. Now, there are only 37 inhabitants — or at least, only 37 living inhabitants. Nagoro is also home to scores of life-size stuffed dolls made by 64-year-old Ayano Tsukimi. Tsukimi sews and dresses the dolls and positions them around town to replace her neighbors who have moved away or died. Tsukimi started her doll project about 10 years ago, after she moved back to her hometown from Osaka. She says she’s made about 350 dolls in that time, though they only last about three years before they need to be replaced. There are now many times more dolls than humans living in Nagoro, and Tsukimi wryly imagines a future where she’s outlived all her neighbors and only dolls remain.

Hey lady you’re scaring us.  And by us I mean everybody in the world.  Cut this shit out.  I can’t imagine how scared the people are in that town.  Probably too scared to tell this lady to knock it off and stop knitting these damn dolls.  You know what’s at or near the top of everybody’s list of things they don’t want after a loved one dies?  A creepy fucking doll that sort of resembles that person.  It’s too weird.  They definitely don’t want that thing sitting around their house.  I think I speak of everybody on that front.  There’s another reason other than they just look super scary.  And I consider myself a pretty rational person and I’m not saying I totally believe this but I kind of believe dolls have the ability to come alive and kill you in your sleep.  Ever seen the Chucky the doll movies?  I have and they’re fucking terrifying.  The first scary movie I ever saw was the one where the people are stuck in the giant warehouse of Chucky dolls and I’ve never been the same since.  Sure, it’s a fictional movie but crazier things have happened (maybe not).  Okay, even if dolls can’t actually come to life and smother you in the middle of the night, why take the chance?  Why even risk it?  I’m gonna need this nice little old Japanese lady to stop making these things ASAP before she creates a whole army and they kill all of us.
